A granite hill extends west of Skuteč called Horky. In the past, extensive extraction took place here in dozens of larger and smaller quarries. The less than 5 km long circular trail will lead you to several abandoned quarries. You will discover the remains of extraction every step you take - heaps of chips and imperfect cubes, places for storing gunpowder, loading ramps or hoppers. However, the most impressive thing is the scenery of the large flooded quarries. The trail offers seven educational stations with double-sided panels, which provide information about the evolution and development of masonry and also provide information about the forest and forestry here. You can get a free trail guide at the tourist information centre.
